Seedlist Optimizer: A more accurate way to measure inbox placement.

Deliverability tools have traditionally treated all mailbox providers as equals. Questions like “Where is my mail actually going” and “Which ISPs should I care about” have evaded marketers for years. Weighing priorities based on seed test results have largely been best-guess efforts. That’s why we’re excited to announce the release of our Seedlist Optimizer. An industry-first, the optimizer analyzes and identifies the composition of your mailing list to personalize your seed testing around your outbound mail stream.

How we’re innovating seedlist testing

By uploading a segment of your mailing list, you can now receive a customized, weighted seedlist for more accurate deliverability testing. Once you apply this weighting to your seedlist, you’ll start seeing the “weighted” results at the bottom of your Inbox tests, providing a more accurate view into the health of your inbox placement.

We’ll tell you where your mail is actually going and give you more visibility into which ISPs you should focus on. Similarly, you’ll also get a better idea of which blacklists to monitor more closely and which mail clients you should optimize your campaigns around.

You may find that the majority of your list goes to the “Big 4” global ISPs such as Gmail, Apple, AOL, and Hotmail. In fact, many of our customers are sending about 25% of their mail to Gmail. But what about the near 100 other ISPs we cover?

You’ve probably spent a good amount of time troubleshooting missing or blocked mail at European, Asian, or Oceanic ISPs, many of which probably make up less than 1% of your mailing list. But with seedlist testing tailored to your mail stream, we’ll help you prioritize your resources around the ISPs that matter to you.

Start optimizing: next steps

  1. Log into 250ok
  2. On the “Get Seedlist” screen, click “Optimize Seedlist”
  3. Upload a segment of your mailing list
  4. View the results to see where your mail is actually going
  5. Click “Apply Weighting to Seedlist” to apply the custom weighting
  6. Copy your new seedlist into your ESP to begin personalized testing
