Why is it taking so long to process emails for Inbox?

On most Inbox seed tests, you’ll typically see most of the seed results within 2 minutes. However, some ISPs have a delay for a number of reasons:

  • mail could be throttled
  • receiving mailbox could be having network or connectivity issues
  • mail was delayed in transmission to a receiving mail server

This is why we have the MTR (“minutes to receive”) column on the ISP Details screen, which shows how long it took to retrieve your mail at each individual seed. In the Campaign Diagnostics tab, we also have the rolled up averages for “Time to Receive Mail”:

By sorting your ISP Details screen by the MTR column, you can clearly see which ISPs had the biggest delay so you can investigate the problem.
